GoodreadsHow to Save Your Tail*: *if you are a rat nabbed by cats who really like stories about magic spoons, wolves with snout-warts, big, hairy chimney trolls . . . and cookies, too.by Mary HansonThis is a fun read, sort of Geronimo Stilton mixed with fairy tales.tagged: children-s-books and j-fairy-talesby E.D. BakerWish it didn't have a pink cover, also fewer kissing scenes, but like it anyway.tagged: children-s-books and j-fairy-talesSo this is just some of the "darker" fairy tales, but it is one to get the kids excited. Also the illustration for the first story has a boy whose head has been cut off (it is tied back on, but still). I'd pair this with A Tale Da...tagged: children-s-booksby Maya AjmeraGood choice for this year's SRC to show global families, this is a nice selection for toddlers. Oscar on my lap, he isn’t usually a lap dog, but he is scared of kids, and there were kids in the room.
Most of you have probably heard this song before, but few people really know what it is about. I even read an interview where the band said it was difficult to explain. Well, I have figured it out. Listen to the song, and then look at the pictures following.
Here is the Little Lion Man, though he is more Lhasa then Shih Tzu (Lion Dog):
Rate yourself and rape yourself
Take all the courage you have left
Wasted on fixing all the problems
That you made in your own head
Oscar has more issues than the national geographic, but at the end this chorus really says it all:
But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really f***ed it up this time
Didn’t I, my dear?
Because some part of me knows all of his behavior issues are the result of poor training and past experiences with people. Sort of silly, but I gotta love my little lion man.
